Biographical info

Carlo Meloni was born in Cagliari in 1970, and graduated in Electronics Engineering from the Università degli Studi di Roma La Sapienza in 1997. He got a Ph.D. in Operations Research from the same university in 2000. In November 2000 he joined the Università degli Studi Roma Tre as post-doctoral fellow in Operations Research. In July 2002 he became Assistant Professor of Systems Engineering at the Politecnico di Bari (DEI - Dipartimento di Ingegneria Elettrica e dell'Informazione).  In 2013 he received the professorship habilitation in Operations Research by MIUR (Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research). Since 2014 he is an associate researcher at CNR-IAC (Bari).
He took part in research projects promoted by the MIUR, academic organizations and companies. His main research and professional interests concern applications of optimization and other OR/MS methodologies. His works have been presented in several international conferences and published on different international journals and books. Carlo Meloni is member of Italian Society of Operations Research (AIRO),  and INFORMS  international societies, and took part in different EURO's working goups.
He is included as expert in the Register of the Reviewers of the Italian Ministry for Education, University and Research for the evaluation of research programs, and has been invited as reviewer and evaluator of international editorial projects for prominent publishers.

Graduated in Electronics Engineering at Università degli Studi di Roma La Sapienza (1997). 

Advisor  Prof. F. Nicolò, and Prof. A. Agnetis. Thesis: Routing and scheduling in a supervised Job Shop: algorithms and simulation

Ph. D. in Operations Research, Università degli Studi di Roma La Sapienza (2000).

Advisor Prof. A. Agnetis. Thesis: Combinatorial models for coordination problems in multi-stage production systems.

Post-doctoral fellow at the Università degli Studi Roma Tre (2000-2002).

Supervisor: Prof. F. Nicolò. Research theme: Control methods for complex systems in industrial automation.
